The Ennis House.
Ridley Scott used as his inspiration The Ennis House which is a residential dwelling in the Lois Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, USA. The home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Charles and Mabel Ennis in 1923, and built in 1924.
As he was not allowed to film inside, Scott instead used the exterior for outside shots and his Art Department took castings of the tiles in order to reproduce the icon blocks for Deckard’s apartment interior.
Like other buildings by Wright, the original design was based on Mayan temples and the symmetrical reliefs of Mayan Buildings in Uxmal. This period in Wright’s work is sometimes referred to as Mayan Revival Architecture.
